5th Best Practice Competition

This is our 5th International Award in 1.5 years. This time we were awarded the Top 10 organizations in the world at the 5th International Best Practice Competition Award in Mumbai, India on 25th – 26th April 2017. This award was conferred for our “Fundraising – Creating publicity and social awareness Low Cost, High Profit and Huge Impact” presentation at the competition.

This competition was designed by the Centre for Organizational Excellence Research (COER), the developers of the Business Performance Improvement Resource (BPIR). The intent is to encourage organizations to share their best operational and managerial practices, processes, systems and initiatives as well as learn from the experience of others. MAA Medicare has always observed Best Practices and will continue to do so. Being a charitable organization, it constantly strives to boost funds, maximize productivity and deliver only the best for our patients.

Getting this award endorses the diligent work put in by MAA Management and Team. Congratulations to Dato’ Aliyah Karen and her team.

Dance Your Heart Out - Sweat2Smiles 2017

On May 13, 2017, the MAA Medicare Charitable Foundation had organized Dance Your Heart Out - Sweat2Smiles 2017 with the cooperation of the Jazzercise Malaysia.

This event which was held at Tropicana Golf and Country Resort, was to raise funds for the first Charitable Cardiac Diagnostic and Treatment Centre.

Official Launch of C.A.T. MAA Medicare

The launching ceremony was officiated by Penang Chief Minister, Y.A.B. Tuan Lim Guang Eng.


The State Government has allocated RM1.1 million for the kidney patients who receive regular treatment at the Dialysis Center C.A.T. MAA Medicare Jalan Baru near here, for three years until 2018.


C.A.T. MAA Medicare Dialysis Center received a total of RM1,121,160 allocation of subsidies from the Penang State Government.

Dress Down Day 2017

World Kidney Day is an annual global campaign to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the 2 known leading causes of kidney failure (ESRD), accounting for more than 60% of new cases of dialysis patients in Malaysia. MAA Medicare's Dress Down Day is an awareness activity to remind and inform everyone the importance of identifying and treating kidney diseases.

Jazzercise Sweat2Smiles 2016

Jazzercise Malaysia was organized a charity Dance Fitness event on 9th April 2016 featuring Emily Tyson from Jazzercise USA, in aid of The Foundation
Our goal is to dance and SWEAT our way to a healthier lifestyle while raising funds and awareness.
All funds from Sweat2Smiles 2016 will go towards the purchase of dialysis and medical equipment as well as support for MAA Medicare's patients.

MoU With The Penang State Government

The State Government of Penang and the MAA Medicare Charitable Foundation (The Foundation) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday (25 May), to provide dialysis subsidy at RM30 each for patients from poor families at the MAA Medicare Charity Dialysis Center, Butterworth.

In addition, the State Government of Penang will also replace 8 dialysis machines, over a two year period and will subsidize the fees for nephrologists and cost for the clinical waste management.
